“Oh Mickey you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow our minds…”. That was our initial thinking when Mickey Rourke was lined up for The Expendables 2. Turns out that Rourke wasn’t that fine with the amount he was being paid and has pulled out of filming for the action sequel.
The follow up to 2010’s hard hitting ‘who’s who’ of the action genre was set to see Rourke reprise his role as tattooist Tool. His decision not to reappear alongside co-stars Statham, Stallone, Lundgren et al is apparently financially motivated and Rourke will now instead be appearing in Martin McDonaghs Seven Psychopaths alongside Colin Farrell and Christopher Walken.
We’re a big fan of Micky Rourke but can’t help feeling that the new arrivals of Chuck Norris, Van Damme and Liam Hemsworth among others will go some way to softening the blow.

The only film we have seen him in is chick-flick The Last Song, but Liam Hemsworth has just signed up for something completely different – the new Expendables film.
It’ll be a big departure from his previous ‘soft’ roles as he gets set to join muscle-men Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the pumped up action movie.
There are a lot of rumours floating across the net about who else will be joining the line up. But you can certainly catch Hemsworth on screen – Expendables 2 is due out next summer. You can see his brother in the Avengers film too, which is also scheduled for release in 2012.
